Welcome to Ms. Otto's Class

I have been a teacher for 7 years. I have been teaching First grade for 6. I am a single parent. My daughters name is Ashley. She is a cheerleader. My classroom has alot of interactive activities. We use manipulatives, technology and visual representations to help your student learn in a fun way. I am very excited to help your student this year! If you have any questions please contact me. Homework

Every night I would like our students to make word family words and practice sight words. This builds a better reader faster!

Every night they are required to read for a minimum of 20 minutes!

For Math we need to count forward and backward to 120. Skip count from any number by 2, 5's and 10's.

For Science we begin with Science Safety and Tools then quickly move into matter.

For students that are behind I do Schedule conferences to come up with a parent/teacher plan to help keep them growing consistantly.

Middle and End of Year Testing

We will have two math, one science, and one Language Arts Benchmark.

Reading levels will be tested at begining of 3rd and 4th quarters.

Early Learning

Students will be tested at the Beginning of the year on lettters, sounds, reading level, and concepts of print. Also for basic math skills. Counting, adding small numbers and patterns.
